Swinton Lions Tales & More
About Swinton Lions Tales & More and the Beth Johnson Foundation
Swinton Lions Tales & More © is an intergenerational project capturing and sharing the memories and experiences of the former players from Swinton Lions Rugby League Football Club, its supporters and local people.
The project has created a range of materials including DVD’s, handling boxes of memorabilia, picture packs, and a mobile exhibition that will ensure that future generations can understand and continue to share this passionate and significant element of local culture and identity.
This two-year partnership project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has seen the Federation of Stadium Communities and Beth Johnson Foundation working with education establishments, Swinton Lions Supporters Trust, Salford City Council Neighbourhood Renewal Team, Museums, Libraries & Archives, Salford University and Age Concern. Swinton Lions Tales & More © is the sister project to Shrews Tales & More © See http://www.shrewstales.com.
